Dies irae: Amantes Amentes for Switch trailer

Publisher Views and developer Greenwood have released the official trailer for Dies irae: Amantes Amentes for Nintendo Switch. 

The Switch version of the visual novel includes the additional scenario “Saoshyant Desatile: The Savior Who Became God,” which is a prequel to the smartphone game Dies irae: Pantheon. Read more about the game here.

Dies irae: Amantes Amentes for Nintendo Switch is due out via the Nintendo eShop on October 18 in Japan for 5,800 yen.

Yo-kai Watch 4 TGS 2018 trailer, gameplay

Level-5 has released the Tokyo Game Show 2018 trailer and a gameplay video of the show floor demo for Yo-kai Watch 4. 

Yo-kai Watch 4 is due out for Switch in spring 2019 in Japan.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 demo announced, Occulm Island gameplay

Square Enix will release a demo for Dragon Quest Builders 2, the company announced during its “Dragon Quest Builders 2 Extracurricular Lesson @ AEON Mall Makuhari Shintoshin.” A release date for the demo was not announced. 

Speaking during the event, producer Noriyoshi Fujimoto said that since development on the full version of the game has yet to finish, they want to first put their energy into completing it. Once that is done, they will start work on the demo, which they plan to release before the full game launches.

Square Enix also showcased a new area called Occulm Island, which once prospered due to a gold rush, but is now only a desolate desert. Below its grounds are a huge ruins and underground lake. Its inhabitants include:

• Pero – The bar show girl. She wants to see the mines and bar reconstructed.
• Carlo – A former blacksmith who stopped working due to the Hargon Order.
• Massimo – A man who is good at mining, but bad at fighting monsters.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 is due out for PlayStation 4 and Switch on December 20 in Japan.

Amnesia dev wants to bring the series to Switch

The well-received survival series Amnesia may end up on Switch. Speaking with GameSpot, creative director Thomas Grip expressed strong interest in making it happen. The team is currently “looking into it” and Grip “would love to do Switch content.”

Grip stated:

“We’re looking into it. I would love to do Switch content. I grew up with Nintendo being the big platform, so it’s like, ‘Wow, we’re actually doing video games for real now if we can get it on Nintendo!’

And it would just be cool to get it on a handheld as well, because I think that should work for Amnesia and other games as well. We’re looking into it and seeing what can be done. We’re hoping–if everything goes as we hope–we hope we’ll have it [on Switch].”

Mario Tennis Aces update incoming (version 2.0.1), patch notes

Later tonight, Mario Tennis Aces’ latest update will be going live. Version 2.0.1 is making changes to the shot system, characters, and more.

The full patch notes are as follows:

• Changes to Shot System
  • Slice shot’s power has been slightly decreased.
  • Returning a slice which was hit at a high point close to the net has been made easier.
  • The power of lobs has been increased when playing with Simple rules.
• Changes to Character Abilities
  • The abilities of certain characters have been changed.

    Wario	Slightly increased the distance he can hit a ball without leaping.
    Rosalina	Slightly increased her movement speed during a Charge Shot.
    Chain Chomp	Slightly increased the ability to aim for the sideline. Increased the length of the period that time is frozen after leaping for a ball. Decreased the speed at which top movement velocity is attained.
    Waluigi	Decreased the power of his slice.
    Peach	Slightly decreased the length of the period that time is frozen after leaping for a ball.
    Toad	Slightly increased the length of the period that time is frozen after leaping for a ball.
    Boo	After leaping for a shot when playing with Simple rules, he can no longer be cancelled during the period that time is frozen.

• Other Changes
  • Simple Class: In Online Tournament, option settings that do not affect Simple rules will not be displayed.
  • Free Play and Swing Mode: When three or more players are playing Singles, the game will now start with P1 and P2 serving for matches other than Team matches. The server and returner will be randomly selected.
  • Online Tournament: Control issues when your character is on the far court have been fixed.
  • Adventure: The issue of software shutting down when playing in Challenges has been fixed.
  • The issue of Zone Shots being canceled has been fixed.
  • The issue concerning Leap Shots and swinging and missing when Koopa Troopa is on a star point has been fixed.

Gear.Club Unlimited 2 launches December 4 worldwide, car roster revealed

Microids and Eden Games shared new details on Gear.Club Unlimited 2. Undoubtedly the highlight is the game’s release date, set for December 4 worldwide.

Microids says Gear.Club Unlimited 2 “will offer players a vast area to explore with more than 3000 km of races. On the mountainside, through a nature park, in the middle of the desert or along the coast, they will discover 250 races, including championships, missions and challenges.”

Gear.Club Unlimited 2 will also feature vehicle upgrades so that players can “climb the rankings, using the seven workshops in their specially equipped garage – the performance shop.” Vehicles can be visually customized with paint and personalized stickers and also by changing the bumpers, hood, side skirts or spoiler. 

Gear.Club Unlimited 2 will include a roster of 51 cars from 22 manufacturers. Find the full list below.

Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition exceeded Koei Tecmo’s expectations outside Japan

Koei Tecmo published a notice today, announcing that they are raising the income forecast for the second quarter of the current fiscal year. One of the reasons they stated for doing so was that Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition sold much more than they expected it to in the West.

We don’t have any concrete sales numbers for the game’s performance outside Japan, only that it hadn’t yet sold more than a million copies worldwide as of Nintendo’s last financial report on June 30th. Regardless, it seems like the game has been a success for Koei Tecmo and Nintendo.

Onimusha Warlords HD Remaster Gets Gameplay Action Trailer - News

Capcom has released the gameplay action trailer for the upcoming HD remaster of Onimusha Warlords.

Onimusha Warlords will launch for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC in North America and Europe on January 15, 2019. In Japan, it will only release for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on December 20.

Monolith Soft recruiting 1st Production development staff for new RPG project

Monolith Soft’s 1st Production development department, which developed Xenoblade Chronicles, Xenoblade Chronicles X, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2, is hiring staff for the development of a new RPG project. 

The studio is seeking programmers (graphics programmers, character control programmers, and AI programmers), planners (level designers), technical artists (modeling TA, animation TA, and effects TA), designers (map modelers, in-game animators, character modelers, character designers for the artwork staff, and script event creators), and management and support staff (production assistants and event production management) to work on the RPG.
